Join us for a workshop to help you better understand your pelvic floor, and how it functions in relation to the rest of your body. You will come away with a better understanding of how to keep your pelvic floor healthy, even when you are lifting heavy!
What you will learn:
-Anatomy and function of the pelvic floor
-Proper coordination of your pelvic floor with breathing and strength training
-How the pelvic floor is inseparable from the rest of your body
-How mobility limitations in places like the shoulder and ankle may impact your pelvic health
-Symptoms to watch for and if/when you should seek treatment
The first half of the workshop will be an interactive talk. In the second half of the workshop, you will get moving and perform some of the typical lifts that you do as part of your workout. Dr. Priya and Dr. Leshelle will be there to perform movement analysis, answer any questions, and provide guidance on adjustments that could be made to improve your pelvic health.
Open to anybody who has a pelvic floor - this includes men and women who have not had children. Even if you don’t have pelvic floor symptoms (which include leaking, heaviness/pressure, constipation, sexual dysfunction and pain), you can still benefit from understanding this central area of your body!
This is open to members and non members of our community. With a fee of $45 non members and $35 for members.
